ABYC Certifications


Testing for ABYC  Certified Marine Technician 

Heres what you need to do:

  1. Contact Casey Bates at or (410).990.4460 ext. 100  to register and pay the ABYC exam fees. ($150 for Maritime Students. $279 for non-students.

  2. Complete the individual contact information of the ABYC Proctor Form and return to Kodiak College Test Center.

  3. Schedule an ABYC test appointment  with Kodiak College test center with our online test appointment request form. Allow 48 hours between test registration and scheduling to receive a test appointment confirmation.

  4. Prior to testing candidate pays $50 test fee to Kodiak College Business Office.

  5. On test day candidate brings a current Government issued ID and test payment receipt to Campus Center, room 210.

  6. Candidate follows up with Casey Bates  for test scores and certification status. Test scores are not printed at the test center.

*ABYC exams include: Marine Electrical Certification, Marine Systems Certification, Marine Diesel Engines Certification, Marine Corrosion Certification, Composite Boat Builder Certification, and Standards Certification.
