Are YOU ready for eLearning?

Distance courses are not as easy as most students believe! Take the Smarter Measure learning readiness indicator assessment to learn about your strengths and weaknesses that support or do not support your success in eLearning courses. Your academic advisor or eLearning instructor can help you understand the results and show you how to improve in areas as needed. The Kodiak College faculty and staff all want you to stay in your class and do well—the results from this assessment will help us to help you!

The following video will explain how to take the Smarter Measure.

The Smarter Measure consists of seven sections and is available online.
In the First Time User Login box, enter the username (dropdown menu) and password.

Username: eLearners
Password: success

On the next screen, type in your personal information and answer the demographic questions. You will then be taken to the first section of the test.

There are SEVEN sections:
Life Factors
Personal Attributes
Learning Styles
Reading Skills
Technical Knowledge
Technical Competency
Typing Skills

You will be emailed a PIN as soon as you start the assessment.  If you cannot complete all sections at one time, you may return to your assessment using the Returning Users login area with your email address and the PIN that was sent to you.

After you complete the Smarter Measure, you will need to email a copy of your results (the full report, not the summary) to Student Services staff.  After staff have reviewed your Smarter Report, you will be sent an email discussing the likelihood of your success in eLearning courses based on your assessment results.  A face-to-face or telephone conversation may also be recommended as part of this process.
