Welcome To Kodiak College
Welcome to Kodiak College, located on Kodiak Island—Alaska’s Emerald Isle! Kodiak Island is one of many islands of the Kodiak Archipelago, the home of the Alutiiq people for more than 7,500 years. A Community Campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage, Kodiak College is nestled in the midst of a 44-acre Spruce forest about two miles from downtown Kodiak. I invite you to explore the College Campus and our website, and learn of the number of programs and courses we offer on-campus and through eLearning.
Kodiak College (KoC) has strong Adult Basic Education and English as a Second Language programs, and a growing Maritime Workforce Development program. KoC offers student-centered education and training services to a small but very diverse campus community. Our Faculty and Staff are simply outstanding; they are dedicated to serving students and the communities in which they live. Our Faculty and Staff consistently endeavor to make a student’s educational experience very fulfilling by providing personal attention in a welcoming learning environment.
Our service area includes the following communities of the Kodiak Archipelago: Kodiak, the village of Chiniak, and six remote Alaska Native villages (all primarily accessible by small airplane or boat) including Akhiok, Karluk, Old Harbor, Ouzinkie, Port Lions, and Larsen Bay. We also proudly serve the largest U.S. Coast Guard Base in the United States, located about six miles south of the City of Kodiak. Our students, however, are not limited to these areas as our strong eLearning course offerings attract students from across Alaska, the Lower-48, as well as internationally.
Thank you again for your interest in Kodiak College, where we have been serving students since 1968. Please feel free to stop by my office in the Benny Benson Building for a chat.
