Kodiak History & Culture Walking Tour

Discover the stories that bring Kodiak’s history to life, from early Alutiiq innovations to the rough and tumble commercial fishing of today. We’ll explore saints and sinners, booms and busts, and epic natural disasters with stories guaranteed to stay etched in your mind.

Your guide, Ani Thomas is a 25 year resident with nearly two decades experience working with both the Kodiak History Museum and Kodiak Maritime Museum. She’s a passionate storyteller and loves to share our amazing Kodiak history.

Introduction to Printmaking

This four week course will introduce students to a variety of printmaking techniques and styles, inspire you to get creative and, possibly end up with some original holiday/ all occasion cards.

Hands-on lessons include design, carving "safety cut" blocks, inking and printing. We will also experiment with mono printing and gelli prints.

Along the way we will learn about the history of/ possibilities of printmaking.
