Biography

Wetherleigh, though not originally from Alaska, has called Kodiak home for over 15 years. She graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a BA in Linguistics. During her time in Fairbanks, Wetherleigh worked as a student employee for the Student Activities and Orientation office. Furthering her passion for being a positive resource for students, she received an Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity (URSA) grant that allowed her to spend a semester developing and implementing a series of lesson plans studying the efficacy of using video games in English language acquisition. Her preparation for the URSA project and hard work in classes led to her receiving an Outstanding Undergraduate Student award from the UAF College of Liberal Arts' Linguistics Department.
