Coming Out Stories Event, 10/11
October 11 is National Coming Out Day and supports the queer community in publicly sharing their sexual orientation and/or gender identities for others to see to combat homophobia and discrimination and be visible to those who are still closeted. Many in the LGBTQIA2S+ may choose to, for their own safety, stay closeted due to anti-queer laws. The threat of discrimination, rejection, and persecution is real. We support people in taking care of themselves in the best way possible; we also know that representation and visibility matter. To shine light on the experiences of the queer community in Kodiak, Kodiak Pride and Kodiak College Diversity Committee are joining forces to bring Coming Out Stories to Kodiak.
Tuesday, October 11 from 6:30-8:30 pm Benny Benson Building room 130
